John Force No. 4 After Season Opener

John Force qualified his PEAK Antifreeze Chevrolet Camaro SS in the No. 9 position with a 3.964 second pass at 322.34 mph and picked up two bonus points for being second-quickest of the third qualifying session.

FORCE NO. 4 AFTER SEASON OPENER

Pomona, California (February 22, 2016) - John Force qualified his PEAK Antifreeze Chevrolet Camaro SS in the No. 9 position with a 3.964 second pass at 322.34 mph and picked up two bonus points for being second-quickest of the third qualifying session.

Going into race day, Force had won 75% of his prior round one races and in the first race of the season, he added another. Force matched up beside the No. 8 qualifier Tim Wilkerson. Force posted a 3.975 ET at 320.81 mph for the win and had lane choice against Beckman in round two.

Force posted a 4.01 in round two, which got him the round win over Beckman, but was not good enough for lane choice in the semi-finals against Del Worsham.

Force left the line with a .049 light to Del’s .079 light, but Worsham pulled away for the win, his 3.978 ET to Force’s 4.033 ET. Force is now 50 - 27 against Worsham. He and the Peak team hold the No. 4 position in the NHRA Mello Yello point standings.
