Brian Scott Earns Seventh-Place Finish at Iowa Speedway
Brian Scott and the No. 2 Shore Lodge Chevrolet Camaro qualified for the U.S. Cellular 250 presented by New Holland at Iowa Speedway in the fourth position. With track position playing a major role at the 7/8-mile track, the 26-year old driver battled inside the top-10 for the majority of the 250-lap event. With a $100,000 bonus on the line from Nationwide Insurance, Scott and Trevor Bayne raced a tight battle in the last 50 laps for the fifth position. With three laps to go on the final restart, Scott got shuffled into the seventh position where he would ultimately cross the finish line. The team returns to road-course racing next weekend at Watkins Glen tied for fifth in points, but ranks sixth by virtue of top-five finishes, in the driver points standings.

BRIAN SCOTT QUOTE:
"We had a really great Shore Lodge Camaro tonight. I really wanted to collect that $100,000 Nationwide Series Dash4Cash bonus for our Richard Childress Racing team and also for Patricia, our Dash4Cash partner. This is a disappointing finish for us. I thought we were going to gain there on the final restart and my car just wouldn't turn."
Ty Dillon Finishes Fifth in U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway
Ty Dillon drove Richard Childress Racing's No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Camaro to its third consecutive top-five finish Saturday night in the U.S. Cellular 250 presented by New Holland crossing the finish line fifth. Dillon wheeled his No. 3 Chevrolet inside the top-10 for most of the 250-lap race after qualifying 15th earlier in the afternoon. Several times on the radio the 22-year-old driver reported a loose-handling race car, so his crew went to work on improving the forward drive off the corners during pit stops on lap 53 and lap 110. As the sun began to set on the 7/8-mile short-track, Dillon noted his car's improved handling. Consequently, he found himself inside the top-five. The team fell back to 12th-place on lap 186 and Dillon was concerned about track position for the remaining 64 laps. Another caution flag fell on lap 242 and crew chief Danny Stockman made the call for two right-side tires. The veteran crew chief's call paid off; Dillon moved up to sixth-place on the final restart and wheeled his No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Camaro to a fifth-place finish. The Welcome, N.C.-native was the first Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate to cross the finish line, and moves up to a tie for third place in the driver points standings, but is ranked fourth by virtue of top-five finishes.
Start - 15th Finish -5th Laps Led - 0 Points - 4th
TY DILLON QUOTE:
"We had a strong recovery and a strong finish tonight. I really liked that last call by Danny Stockman (crew chief) for two tires during the last caution. Our team is heading in the right direction with three straight top-five finishes. I think if we kept up with track position, we would have had a shot at another win tonight. Overall, I'm really happy with our finish tonight."
Brendan Gaughan Finishes 11th at Iowa Speedway
Brendan Gaughan and the No. 62 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet qualified 16th for the NASCAR Nationwide Series U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway. The Las Vegas-native began reporting a loose-handling race car on lap 11. When the first caution flag fell on lap 26, crew chief Shane Wilson elected to keep the South Point Chevrolet out on the track. During their first pit stop on lap 52, the team worked diligently to adjust air pressure, track bar and take four Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel. Throughout the remainder of the 250-lap event, the RCR team battled to improve the handling of the Camaro. On lap 243 the yellow flag fell after Gaughan made contact with a competitor causing him to make an unscheduled pit stop to repair damage. When the final green-flag fell on lap 247 the No. 62 team was able to rebound and cross the finish line in the 11th position. Brendan Gaughan and the South Point Hotel & Casino team are currently eighth in the driver points standings as the Series heads to Watkins Glen International.
Start - 16th Finish - 11th Laps Led - 0 Points - 8th
BRENDAN GAUGHAN QUOTE:
"The 62 South Point Chevrolet was pretty loose all night long. Shane (Wilson) made some good calls on adjustments. It was unfortunate to get caught up in that last caution with James (Buescher), but we made the most of it and brought the Camaro home in 11th place."
